Keynote Speaker: Derek Holt
Derek Holt is Vice President of Scotiabank Economics in Toronto. He will be speaking on “The 2013 Housing Market: What to Expect”. He is responsible for applying global economic and capital market forecasts and research while serving the dealer setting, major bank clients, and Scotiabank’s senior management. He joined Scotiabank’s trading floor from a senior role with another Canadian bank where he handled macroeconomic, financial market, regional, fiscal, and financial industry research and forecasts. He has split his career in both bank and capital market settings. Derek is also a past chairman of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s finance and taxation committee. He is married with a young son, and holds an Honours BA in Economics, an MA in Economics, an MBA in Finance and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
